JSP’s interest in storytelling and film around mental health manifested into writing and directing his first short film "Perspective". This project attained federal recognition by the Government of Canada as a significant film highlighting mental health in minority communities.
Perspective aims to share stories between creators, artists, and minority communities alike, discussing mental health ending the stigma associated. The concept of Perspective was evolved within the executive team as all are musicians, artists and young visionaries. As an artist, the director understood mental health as a need to be shown in the most truthful way for the audience. As young creatives, we have a duty to enable change. With all of us being young minority creatives it's both important and necessary to highlight narrative and experiences that are representative of our minority communities dealing with issues on a daily basis.
